Radiology Manager Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiology Manager to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of assigned radiology supervisors and managers in assigned clinics and/or specialty areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate activities of radiologic technologists, diagnostic medical sonographers, and clerical personnel at assigned clinics.
  • Provide accurate diagnostic data for interpretation by the radiologist and use by medical provider in providing patient care.
  • Prepare and manage department budgets, ensuring efficient and coordinated staffing flow among clinics or specialty areas.
  • Ensure purchase of radiology equipment is cost-effective and meets quality standards.
  • Coordinate teams and enhance department efficiencies.
  • Ensure patient safety in the preparation and provisioning of care related to but not limited to medications, procedures, infection prevention, fall prevention, including consistent use of two patient identifiers and procedural time outs.
  • Report safety hazards, accidents, and incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly.
  • Manage staffing through reporting supervisors at various outpatient clinics and radiology specialty groups.
  • Prepare, oversee, and execute budget for assigned departments/facilities.
  • Research, evaluate, and authorize purchase of capital equipment and supplies for assigned radiology clinics.
  • Oversee implementation of policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Foster effective partnerships with physicians in coordination with CPMG.
  • Foster positive relationships with labor partners.
Requirements:
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience that includes a combination of radiologic technologist and lead or supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor degree in health care administration, business management, or related field required OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists OR Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Completion of an approved training program in radiologic technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage modalities (i.e. radiology, mammography, diagnostic medical sonographers, and reception/clerical personnel).
  • General knowledge of radiologic theory and practice, including radiation safety and applicable standards.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience that includes a combination of radiologic technologist and lead or supervisory experience in an outpatient clinic.
Notes:
  • Radiology manager with variable working hours and days.
  • Required to drive to all clinics managed.
