Established in 1984, Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has earned a national reputation for excellence in cancer care. With a network of over 250 physicians and 220 nurse practitioners and physician assistants across nearly 100 locations, we leverage innovative clinical research, state-of-the-art technologies, and advanced treatment options to provide world-class oncology care. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians in delivering care and education to patients in an inpatient environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, holding a master's degree in nursing or a post-master's nurse practitioner certificate.
  • Current licensure/registration to practice in Florida, with prescriptive privileges or eligibility to apply.
  • Certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the Oncology Nurses Certification Corporation (ONCC).
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with diverse populations, including physicians, staff, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide others towards achieving patient care objectives.
  • Analytical skills to assess patient conditions, healthcare procedures, and to monitor the quality of care provided.
  • Financial acumen to oversee and manage costs and revenue.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in all duties performed.
  • Possession of a valid Florida Driver License.

Screening Requirements

Ensuring the safety of our patients and staff is paramount. All employment offers at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute are contingent upon successful completion of a thorough background screening. Additionally, as a condition of employment, all new hires are required to receive various vaccinations, including the influenza vaccine, unless an approved exemption is provided.
