This role involves delivering communication support services, including general clerical duties, information dissemination, and appointment scheduling for patients at Oak Orchard Community Health Center. Responsibilities include collecting, assessing, submitting, processing, and updating sensitive and confidential information, resolving patient access challenges, and adhering to various workflow protocols.

Staff members will be scheduled for shifts between 8 AM and 6 PM, with a minimum commitment of 9 hours per week and a maximum of 18 hours per week.

This position is remote. Company-provided laptops will be available; however, employees must ensure they work in a private environment where discussions regarding patient information remain confidential and are not overheard by non-Oak Orchard personnel. Random video call audits may be conducted to verify compliance with privacy standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a high volume of incoming inquiries, including telephone calls and electronic medical records.
  • Schedule patient appointments in accordance with established protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Address and resolve patient access issues.
  • Respond to inquiries from patients and healthcare providers.
  • Make independent decisions during calls to transfer, refer, or address urgent situations outside of standard protocols.
  • Utilize electronic medical records and reporting tools effectively to navigate, interpret, report, troubleshoot, and schedule appointments.
  • Register patients accurately.
  • Document information and record problem resolutions in the electronic medical record following established procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Flexibility in scheduling; availability for some evenings and weekends may be necessary.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years of previous experience in a call center or customer service role, preferably within a medical office setting.
