About the Role:

The City of Hampton, VA is seeking a skilled Training Coordinator to oversee and coordinate all training for employees in correctional services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all training programs meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Training Programs: Create and deliver training programs that meet the needs of employees in correctional services, including instructor-led training, online courses, and on-the-job training.
  • Coordinate Training Schedules: Plan and schedule training sessions to ensure that employees receive the necessary training to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Maintain Training Records: Keep accurate records of employee training, including completion certificates, training hours, and evaluation results.
  • Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders to identify training needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
Requirements:
  • Education: Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in training and development, preferably in a correctional services setting.
  • Certifications: Possess certifications in areas such as instructional design, adult learning theory, and performance improvement.
