Position Overview:

The Department of Defense is seeking a highly qualified attorney to serve as the Division Chief for Acquisition and Fiscal Law. This role is critical in overseeing the legal framework governing the agency's procurement processes and fiscal responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal guidance on acquisition and fiscal law, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
  • Supervise a team of attorneys specializing in contract law, bid protests, and procurement disputes.
  • Act as the primary decision-maker for legal interpretations affecting major procurement programs and fiscal initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various governmental agencies and stakeholders to represent the Department of Defense in legal matters.
  • Coordinate with the Inspector General on investigations related to procurement fraud and compliance audits.

Qualifications:

Applicants must demonstrate extensive experience in federal acquisition and fiscal law, including:

  • A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in a state bar.
  • A minimum of seven years of post-licensure legal practice.
  • Expertise in federal procurement processes, budget justification, and appropriations law.

Leadership and Management:

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage legal operations and provide strategic direction within the agency. This includes:
