Preschool Teacher Aide Opportunity at Armed Services YMCA

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Preschool Teacher Aide with Armed Services YMCA, you will play a vital role in supporting the Preschool Teacher in preparing young learners for their transition to elementary education. Your focus will be on fostering vocabulary development, enhancing social interactions, and implementing effective academic programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and executing a comprehensive child development program tailored to individual needs
  • Implement daily routines and activities as directed by the Teacher
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and emergency documentation

Core Duties:

  • Establish a safe and welcoming atmosphere for children
  • Timely submission of required reports and documentation
  • Engage in staff meetings and training sessions, sharing valuable insights
  • Collaborate on the creation of monthly activity schedules
  • Encourage participation in play and educational activities
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding program information

Required Certifications:

  • Completion of ASYMCA safety training programs
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Clearances for child abuse and criminal background checks

Physical Requirements:

This role necessitates physical agility, mobility, and the capability to lift items weighing up to 30 pounds. Strong multitasking abilities, memory retention, and analytical skills are essential.

Work Environment:

The position is set in a classroom-like environment, which may occasionally involve outdoor activities for children.

Travel Requirements:

No travel is required for this position.

Qualifications:

· High School diploma or GED

· 1-2 years of experience working with preschool-aged children (preferred)

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to effectively manage various childcare scenarios

· Proficient in both written and verbal communication, including report writing and planning
