Patient Care Specialist

At Premier Health Consultants, we are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-focused healthcare services to all patients in collaboration with other staff members. Your duties will include examining patients for symptoms and physical information, aiding patients in their right to be informed and to participate in making decisions in all aspects of their medical care and treatment, and ensuring that all aspects of care have respect for personal values and beliefs. You will also be responsible for eliciting and reviewing information about patients' medical history, ordering or executing various tests, analyses, results, reports, and diagnostic images, and promoting health by educational instruction and advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Additionally, you will refer patients to medical specialists for consultant services when necessary, accurately and efficiently document necessary data for patient records, and participate in department quality improvement activities, staff educational programs, and attends departmental meetings. You must maintain competency in skills relevant to the scope of services provided in the facility and may be required to supervise clinical and clerical staff.

Requirements

- Must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Program
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Physician Assistant License, Primary Supervising Physician/Locum Tenens Physicians, DEA Drug Enforcement Agency Registration Number as applicable per prescriptive authority
- Active medical board certification required per state requirements
- Successful completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred for full-time PA

Skills

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Reasoning Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Computer Skills: Ability to perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of EMR systems, specifically DocuTap, Excel Spreadsheet software, and MS Word Processing software

Working Conditions

- The employee must frequently lift supplies and/or equipment and may be responsible for lifting, positioning, and/or transferring patients
