Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a LPN, you will provide direct and indirect patient care, applying the nursing process to follow the plan of care for patients. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure quality care is delivered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care appropriate to the condition and needs of the patient.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
  • Document patients' medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and other appropriate information on the medical record.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms, before and after each patient, with necessary instruments.
  • Assist with injections, casts, splints, and dressing applications.
  • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Order clinical supplies and monitor and control clinical expenditures to remain within budget.
  • Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries, physicals, and procedures.
  • Schedule or assist with the scheduling of test and treatments for patients.
  • Obtain referrals and precertification's for patients.
  • Schedule patient appointments as needed and assist with other front office duties as necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining patient files, records, and other information to contribute to accurate data gathering.
  • Assist with coding and charges when applicable.
  • Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
  • Administer medications and treatments within the scope of practice for a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Operate medical equipment used in the care of the patient.
  • Provide patient care following nursing standards of care in a manner that promotes excellent outcomes, avoids harm to patients, and promotes health and healing.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
  • Perform related work as required.
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and CLIA.
  • Follow established Standard of Performance.
Requirements
  • Completion of a state-approved training program at a Technical School or Community College.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work with multiple computer systems.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to operate standard patient care equipment for services provided.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapt quickly in changing situations, function dependently and independently, and be flexible in applying basic nursing knowledge to a variety of settings.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS may be obtained within 30 days of hire following orientation).
  • Licenses: Active LPN Tennessee License.
