Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated **Scale Operator/Weighmaster** who is passionate about customer service. This role involves overseeing and managing the intake of scrap metal recyclables at our facility. The ideal candidate will engage with both internal teams and suppliers, ensuring that materials are accurately graded according to established policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.

2. Experience operating heavy machinery, such as forklifts or skid steers, is preferred.

3. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while accurately entering data related to transactions.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Outlook) is necessary for job-related tasks.

5. Availability for day shifts and potential overtime is essential.

Work Environment:

The position is primarily office-based within a scrap yard, where you will encounter moderate noise from trucks and dust from materials.

Physical Requirements:

Applicants should be capable of exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly to handle various objects.

Communication Skills:

Effective oral and written communication skills are crucial. The role involves providing guidance on standard procedures and maintaining regular contact with colleagues and external partners to deliver exceptional customer service.
