Emergency Room Registered Nurse RN Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurse RN to join our team at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support in our 30-bed ED unit, which serves a mixed patient population, including trauma, neuro, STEMIs, ortho, sepsis, geriatric, and behavioral health patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the hospital.
  • Work closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan that meets each patient's needs.
  • Administer all prescribed medications utilizing the 5 rights to medication administration.
  • Change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs as per protocols.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, including patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team and patient's family as needed.
Requirements:
  • One year experience in Emergency services is preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
