Compensation: $25.50 per hour

Role Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in delivering personalized care to residents during their scheduled shifts in a long-term care setting. This position focuses on providing resident-centered nursing support and assistance with daily living activities under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN).

Demonstrating knowledge of age-appropriate care, the CNA addresses both the physical and emotional needs of residents as outlined in their care plans.

As an integral member of the nursing team, the CNA is responsible for adhering to infection control protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Key responsibilities include assisting residents with essential health care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and obtaining vital signs, while also offering emotional support and personal care.

The CNA aids residents in mobility, utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment for transfers and exercises.

In addition, the role involves supporting meal preparation and dining experiences, ensuring residents receive adequate nutrition and hydration.


Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff with procedures as needed.
- Document resident interactions and care outcomes.
- Communicate changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse.
- Collect non-invasive specimens and vital signs.
- Maintain cleanliness in residents' living areas.
- Support wellness and recreational activities, encouraging resident participation.
- Participate in departmental committees as required.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Previous experience in long-term care is advantageous.
- Required: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing or enrollment in a training program to obtain certification.
- Must complete annual competency testing and continuing education credits.
- For certain states, registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry may be necessary.
- Depending on facility requirements, may need to meet driving qualifications.
