Salary Range: $24.00 per hour

Incentives: $5,000 Sign-on Bonus

Position Summary


The Senior Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in delivering personalized care to residents during their shifts in a long-term care setting. This position requires a high level of expertise as a certified nursing assistant, providing support to both residents and fellow staff members as necessary.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering resident-centered nursing care and assisting with daily living activities under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN).
  • Understanding and addressing the physical and psychological needs of residents in accordance with their care plans.
  • Adhering to infection prevention and control policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Supporting clinical staff while managing individual responsibilities and leading problem-solving efforts.

The CNA assists residents with essential health care needs, which may encompass:

  • Daily living tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Recording vital signs and providing psychosocial support.
  • Facilitating resident mobility through safe transfer techniques and exercises.
  • Contributing to meal preparation and ensuring a positive dining experience.

In addition, the CNA collaborates with nursing staff on procedures, documents resident interactions, and communicates any changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse. Responsibilities may also include collecting non-invasive specimens and maintaining cleanliness in living areas.

The role may involve participation in wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident engagement. There may also be opportunities to contribute to departmental committees and task forces.

Completion of tasks related to the Restorative Nursing program may be required, including documentation and scheduling.


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum age of 16, with two years of clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
  • Annual completion of department-specific competency testing and continuing education credits.
  • Potential requirement to complete Restorative Nursing training within six months.
