Salary Range: $24.00 per hour

Incentives: $5,000 Sign-on Bonus

Position Summary:

The Senior Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate care to residents during their scheduled shifts in a long-term care setting. This position requires an experienced caregiver who can assist with various needs while demonstrating a high level of professionalism.

The CNA is responsible for providing resident-focused nursing care and daily living support under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN). This includes understanding and addressing the physical and emotional needs of residents as outlined in their care plans.

As a vital member of the nursing team, the CNA is expected to adhere to infection control protocols and utilize Personal Protective Equipment appropriately. This role often involves collaboration with other clinical staff while maintaining accountability for individual responsibilities.

The CNA assists residents with essential health care tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs.
  • Providing emotional support and personal care.
  • Facilitating safe transfers and mobility exercises.
  • Assisting with meal preparation and ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

Additionally, the CNA supports nursing staff with procedures as needed, documents resident interactions, and communicates any changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse. Responsibilities may also include collecting non-invasive specimens and maintaining cleanliness in living areas.

The CNA may engage in wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation, and may also take part in departmental committees as required.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.
Minimum age of 16 years. Two years of experience in long-term care preferred.
Must possess a valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing.
Completion of annual competency testing and continuing education credits is required, with a minimum of 12 hours annually.
May need to complete Restorative Nursing training within six months if applicable.
Depending on facility requirements, this role may necessitate a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
