About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Referral Coordinator to join our team at PeaceHealth.

The salary range for this position is $22,700 - $34,200 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive compensation package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 403(b) retirement plan with employer matching contributions.

Job Summary

This is a Full-time, 1.00 FTE, Day position that involves coordinating referrals and prior authorizations for patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing correspondence with patients, physicians, specialists, and insurance companies.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience working in insurance or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in insurance requirements for referrals and prior authorizations. A Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN credential is preferred, but not required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage referral forms and notifications, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Obtain pre-authorization from insurance carriers and re-authorize additional treatment as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, practitioners, and insurance companies.
  • Collaborate with Patient Financial Services to improve the revenue cycle process.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years' experience in insurance or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in insurance requirements for referrals and prior authorizations.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
