Educational Support Specialist I (TK) - 7 hours/day
Role Summary: The Educational Support Specialist I plays a crucial role in assisting educators within special education environments. The specialist collaborates with teachers to facilitate effective instruction and maintain a conducive learning atmosphere in both special and general education settings.
Work Schedule: 7 hours per day, 5 days a week
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $24.21 per hour, with a structured salary scale based on experience.
Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options are available for employees working 4 or more hours daily, with full district contributions for those working 6 or more hours.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a competency assessment is required to demonstrate the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics. Alternatively, completion of at least 48 college credit units may be accepted in lieu of the assessment.
Licensure and Certifications: A valid driver's license may be necessary. Compliance with district skill and competency standards is required. A valid First Aid/CPR certification may also be needed.
Required Documentation: Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Proof of NCLB Compliance (48 college units or passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
- Evidence of High School Graduation (Diploma, Transcripts, or equivalent)
