The Steward is a vital member of the Limelight Hotels team, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, loading dock, and back-of-house areas. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scrape, stack, and clean all dishes properly to ensure they are sanitized and ready for use.
  • Store dishes and silverware in designated locations to maintain a clean and efficient workspace.

Additional Duties

  • Set up the cleaning area by assembling the dish machine, filling water tanks, and turning on heating elements.
  • Pre-soak silverware and change water after major meal periods to prevent damage and maintain cleanliness.
  • Sort silverware properly and keep the dish area clean and neat according to company policy.
  • Post caution signs when the floor is wet or being mopped to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble the dishwasher prior to the end of shift.
  • Neatly stack all remaining dirty china, glassware, and silverware prior to the end of shift.
  • Return all clean china, glassware, and silverware to proper storage areas.
  • Clean kitchen walls, floors, loading docks, and other associated areas at the proper time.
  • Empty boxes and garbage at the proper time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
