Purpose and Scope

As a Behavioral Health Associate 2, you will provide high-quality care to patients in accordance with the instructions of physicians or other health practitioners. You will demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers at all times, and work to resolve any complaints or concerns that may arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, ensuring their well-being and promoting a positive experience.
  • Conduct safety checks and ensure that supervision is conducted at regular intervals, as required.
  • Document timely, accurate, and appropriate clinical information in patient records.
  • Assist in providing a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients, significant others, and staff.
  • Monitor patient safety and report any concerns or issues to the nursing team.
  • Engage with patients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
  • Apply de-escalation techniques to help manage patient emotions and behavior, and assist with seclusion and restraint when necessary.
  • Participate in rehabilitation and treatment programs, and teach strategies to promote patient wellness and independence.
  • Provide transportation for patients or coordinate transportation with appropriate staff members, as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of experience as a Behavioral Health Associate 1, or equivalent experience working with the specific population of the facility.
  • CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification, or willingness to obtain.
