Job Summary

Evaluate system specifications, configure systems, establish standards, and ensure hardware/software compatibility for stable performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate system specifications and configure systems to meet requirements
  • Establish standards for hardware and software compatibility
  • Maintain workstations and MS Windows Operating Systems for stable performance
  • Perform daily operations of MS Win server software, including system security, access, configuration, and backups
  • Specify network requirements, monitor LAN performance, and troubleshoot networking hardware
  • Organize and secure directory structures and assist/train staff members in using the Document Management System, associated databases, and CM/DM release procedures
  • Maintain and design functional, visually aesthetic web pages
  • Specify hardware requirements and provide Computer Authorization and Custodial Receipt Listings (CA/CRL) to track equipment configurations and identification logs
  • Serve as point of contact for problem reporting, incremental version updates, and monitor yearly support contracts
  • Make recommendations for future hardware/software implementations and related process improvements, schedule, plan, and perform system upgrades, including transitioning from design, test, production, and documentation environments
  • Provide operational status as required
Requirements

Associates or higher degree in Computer/Information Technology or equivalent academic/technical training

7 years related experience or combination of experience in computer system basics and/or related areas of expertise

Must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems

Must have specific experience in the use of MS Windows Server environments and various CAD/CAM, database, MS Office, and Web-enabled applications

Must possess planning/organizing skills and be able to work under deadlines

Employee is expected to routinely cross fields in the completion of somewhat difficult and varied assignments

Must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license

Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

Must be a U.S. citizen
