POSITION TITLE: RECEIVING CLERK
FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT
COMPENSATION: $18.00 PER HOUR
REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE CHEF / PURCHASING MANAGER
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing and verifying all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders, invoices, and pick lists for a variety of products including food and beverages.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Authenticate, count, and endorse packing slips, aligning them with invoices for accounting purposes.
- Report any discrepancies such as shortages or excesses on invoices.
- Oversee the cleanliness and organization of receiving areas and storage facilities.
- Monitor inventory levels to optimize profitability by reducing obsolete stock.
- Label, date, store, and rotate food and beverage items to prevent spoilage while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain storage areas for equipment, dishware, glassware, and cutlery.
- Receive and systematically organize all deliveries, ensuring proper storage of items.
- Communicate any inconsistencies to management.
- Ensure all food deliveries are stored and rotated appropriately for kitchen use.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- Regular attendance is crucial for the successful execution of this role. Employees with inconsistent attendance may face disciplinary measures.
- Due to the nature of the industry, employees may need to adapt to varying schedules based on business demands.
- All employees must comply with company policies and regulations for effective operations. Violations may result in disciplinary actions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is essential.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage quality standards.
- Understanding of proper handling techniques for perishable goods.
- Previous experience in a similar capacity is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the primary languages used in the workplace.
- Capacity to learn and execute all essential job functions accurately and safely.
- Auditory and visual skills to identify emergency situations.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Most tasks are performed indoors, with temperature controlled environments. Some outdoor tasks may be required as needed.
- Ability to stand and maintain mobility for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 lbs regularly.
- Capability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, twist, walk, crouch, squat, and stretch as necessary.
- Manual dexterity is required for operating necessary equipment.
- Continuous communication with guests, supervisors, and other employees is essential.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience required.
Licenses: Must be able to obtain and maintain any required licenses or permits.
Grooming: Employees must present a neat and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
