Job Summary

Maintenance Technician II is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment and machinery at JTM Food Group. This role requires a strong mechanical and electrical background, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably in the food industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment and machinery to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment is properly maintained and running efficiently.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve equipment-related issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and techniques to improve maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to JTM Food Group's safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; certifications and/or 2+ year apprenticeship preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
  • Basic plumbing, painting, and carpentry skills.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems.
  • Basic understanding of sanitary pipe fitting, SS tig welding, metal fabrication, and machining.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment and aerial lift equipment – certification preferred.
  • Use of digital multimeter.
  • Operational knowledge of robotic work cells and automated storage systems.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to loud noises, machinery, and chemicals.
  • Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
