Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform tissue recovery in an operating room setting, adhering to aseptic and surgical techniques.
  • Collaborate with the recovery team to achieve high efficiency and cooperation.
  • Aseptically package recovered tissue and ship it to designated facilities.
  • Coordinate the overall tissue donation process, communicating effectively with hospitals, funeral homes, transporters, and partners.
  • Document case-related data and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • One year of experience in a clinical environment, preferably in surgical technology or a related field.
  • Associate degree with a concentration in healthcare is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Ability to function in high-pressure situations and maintain confidentiality of patient and donor/recipient information.
  • Valid state driver's license required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers donors and/or supplies < 20lbs: Greater than 65% of the time.
  • Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers donors and/or supplies < 50lbs: Less than 35% of the time.
  • Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers donors and/or supplies < 100lbs: Less than 35% of the time.

Work Environment:

  • Prolonged sitting and prolonged standing.
  • Some travel within the service area is required.
