Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Junior Accountant role focuses on Member Billing and entails managing the billing processes for all members associated with various programs. This includes handling registrations, processing refunds, applying credits, managing scholarships, and overseeing agency billing. The selected candidate will also contribute to the Finance Team's efforts during the annual financial audit. The ideal applicant will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail throughout the accounting cycle and maintain clear, proactive communication with employees, vendors, and stakeholders during financial operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate invoices and establish recurring billing for members.
  • Process refunds and apply relevant credits.
  • Administer scholarships upon approval.
  • Compile and submit billing information for agencies.
  • Monitor childcare authorizations.
  • Receive and process forms related to Military Youth Outreach.
  • Reconcile payments and registrations using the designated system.
  • Participate in the annual audit process, including compiling and reviewing billing audit selections.
  • Provide professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures in assigned areas.
  • Ensure the proper use of technology and tools, including relevant training.
  • Uphold confidentiality and access control practices to secure documents.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement departmental initiatives and strategic plans.
  • Contribute to strategic planning discussions as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least two years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or office management.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and web-based platforms, with strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is advantageous.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain first aid and CPR certification.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
