About the Role

Midea America Corp., a leading global home appliance brand, is seeking a highly skilled R&D Clothes Dryer Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our North American R&D team, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and innovating drying product systems and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Lead the design and development of new product appearance parts and functional parts, including mechanical component and structural design, feature development, and collaboration.
  • Technology Development: Develop technology for intellectual property development for Clothes Dryers, including research on related innovation projects and innovation methods.
  • Test Lab Improvements: Work to make dryer test lab improvements and guide the team on improved processes to ensure test lab reproducibility and repeatability.
  • Structural Design and Improvement: Responsible for the structural design and improvement of related parts of the product.
  • Research and Development: Research the field of mechanical technology, responsible for organizing technical research on key core technologies focusing on structural design and mechanical transmission.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the North American R&D team and the Chinese Overseas R&D team, actively participate in technical project reviews and innovation research projects, and cross-functional cooperation with various internal and external engineering teams.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; Masters preferred.
  • Experience: 7 to 10 years' experience working as a design engineer, 5 years of experience working on Clothes dryer systems, and experience with UG, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or other similar software.
  • Skills: Hands on ability to prototype, familiar with injection molding and metal fabrication, good communication skills both written and verbal, strong problem solving and analytical skills, strong organizational skill and ability to prioritize tasks appropriately, self-starter and self-disciplined in accomplishing tasks, and strong desire to learn with ability to be self-taught.
