Director of Student Support and Belonging: Shaping a Vibrant Campus Community

Job Summary:
The Director of Student Support and Belonging will play a pivotal role in shaping a vibrant campus community that celebrates diversity, promotes equity, and empowers every student to thrive. This leadership position will be instrumental in developing and implementing innovative programs, initiatives, and support services that cultivate a sense of belonging, foster personal growth, and ensure the holistic well-being of our diverse student population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop targeted transitional, mentoring, and programmatic support to traditionally underserved students in higher education.
- Implement a four-year co-curriculum that fosters a sense of belonging and community and contributes to holistic success.
- Provide one-on-one coaching, workshop coordination, relevant referrals, and other programs, resources, and initiatives as appropriate.
- Work closely with Academic Advising to ensure that students' academic needs are met to improve academic success.
- Partner with key areas of the college to mitigate the challenges that may impact student success, including Financial Aid, Student Outreach and Resource Center, the Tutoring Center, Career and Life Planning, Counseling and Psychological Services, and other supports.
- Tap into student leadership in the creation of an identity-based peer mentorship program to support underserved students.
- Monitor underserved student retention, persistence, graduation, and post-graduate placement rates.
- Make appropriate referrals to others for assistance and support when needed.
- Lead and manage the administration of assessment and budget management related to Holistic Student Support.
- Work closely with the Dean of the Student Center for Inclusion & Belonging on all aspects of the programs, services, and resources.
- Assist with programming and initiatives that enhance the student experience.
- Supervise a Mental Health and Counseling Intern and student employees for programmatic development.
- Serve on various campus committees.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience encompassing work directly related to the essential functions of the position.
- Demonstrated advocacy and leadership related to BIPOC, First Generation, and other intersectional identities.
- Demonstrated experience in providing mentoring, advising, and/or programmatic support to a diverse array of BIPOC and first-generation to college students.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with educational programs that work with diverse student populations.
- Experience with program management, budget management, program reports, and assessment.
- Experience in supervision and leadership of individuals and teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or other related field.
- Bilingual (Spanish).
