Job Title: Campus Advising Lead

Connecticut State Community College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Campus Advising Lead to join our team. As a key member of our advising team, you will be responsible for implementing the Holistic Case Management Advising (HCMA) policy and overseeing the operation, effectiveness, and ongoing evaluation of the Guided Pathways Advising (GPA) program at our community college campus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive advising program, including hiring, staff development, supervision, evaluation, scheduling, operations, data collection, effectiveness, and compliance with all applicable policies and laws.
  • Supervise and lead a team of advisors, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to ensure the delivery of high-quality advising services.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop and implement strategies to support student success, retention, and completion.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including community partners, employers, and educational institutions, to promote student success and career readiness.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in advising and student support, incorporating innovative approaches and technologies to enhance student services.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in education, counseling, student development, social work, enrollment management, or a related field.
  • At least two years of higher education experience in academic advising, counseling, or a related area, with up to two years of supervision experience.
  • Proven ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and provide high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with student information systems, academic advising software, and data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using a Student Information System such as Banner or a comparable system.
  • Experience using an academic advising software such as CRM Advise.
  • Experience in a collaborative student care setting or a student-facing office environment.
