Job Overview
SC Works Trident is seeking a qualified Fire Protection Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the design and implementation of fire protection systems. This role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for both remote and on-site responsibilities as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will:
1. Provide expert fire protection engineering services for various facilities within the Department of Energy (DOE) framework.
2. Independently apply extensive knowledge of fire protection principles across a range of assignments.
3. Engage in significant projects that may involve complex features and require innovative solutions.
4. Conduct design tasks, including conceptual studies, program requirements, design analyses, calculations, and equipment selection.
5. Ensure effective communication and coordination of design efforts among team members.
6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project accuracy, adherence to schedules, and budget compliance.
7. Meet with clients to discuss and validate the proposed scope of work.
8. Prepare fee proposals for fire protection design services.

Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, focusing on Fire Protection, Mechanical, Architectural, or Electrical Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in designing fire protection systems.
- Proficiency in fire hazard analysis and familiarity with building and fire safety codes.
- Experience with computer-based fire dynamic and evacuation simulation modeling is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office.

Work Environment
This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic work environment that values safety and collaboration.
