Job Title: Startup Engineering Specialist

UDR Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Startup Engineering Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing complex startup assignments within a type of facility or process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply advanced startup engineering techniques to solve specific problems and provide technical advice and counsel on assignments.
  • Develop and evaluate plans and criteria within a discipline or specialty for various project activities.
  • Interpret new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data relating to a specialty.
  • Provide input and participate in special technical educational and training programs as directed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge within the area of expertise regarding new concepts, approaches, and solutions to problems.
  • Assist in project design reviews and project operations manual preparation.
  • Prepare and give presentations to management and others as directed.
  • Assist in the preparation of contract proposals.
  • Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to subordinates and project personnel as assigned.
  • Perform field consulting services as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
  • Years of practical work experience in startup, operations, maintenance, or testing and basic knowledge of pertinent industry or regulatory standards.
  • Some knowledge of construction or field engineering, engineering systems, and applications of startup/test methods.
  • Some knowledge of code, mathematics, or computers.
  • Basic skill in communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum two-year degree in electronics or electrical engineering.
  • Certified to NICET level IV in Fire Alarms with at least five years related experience or successfully tested to NICET level IV requirements with at least ten years related experience.
  • Working knowledge of Notifier, Simplex, Silent Knight, and Pyrotronics systems.
  • Working knowledge of the National Fire Code and ability to apply it to designs and installations.
