Job Title: Lead Ophthalmic Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Grand Rapids Ophthalmology. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily clinic operations, providing technical and clerical support, and working closely with clinic leaders to promote an efficient and productive clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily clinic flow, including employee assignments and technical and clerical functions.
  • Work closely with clinic leaders to coordinate schedules and promote an efficient and productive clinic.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, testing, treatments, and administrative duties.
  • Provide input to clinic leadership to improve clinic efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist in training and evaluating clinical staff, and provide input to clinic leaders for employee reviews.
  • Monitor clinical staff for compliance with clinic policies.
  • Monitor team hours to minimize overtime and make changes to the schedule as patient flow allows.
  • Maintain knowledge of all aspects of the clinic, including front desk, medical records, surgery scheduling, and contact center for coordination purposes.
  • Complete tasks requested by physicians and delegate as appropriate.
  • Assist in triage for patient calls and walk-ins.
