Optical Dispenser

We are seeking a skilled Optical Dispenser to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As an Optical Dispenser, you will play a critical role in ensuring our patients receive the best possible eye care.

• Interpret and Dispense Eyewear: Accurately interpret ophthalmic spectacle prescriptions and eyewear orders to deliver, adjust, and repair eyewear.
• Inspect and Verify Eyewear: Inspect eyewear and coordinated orders prior to delivery to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Dispense Eyewear using E.A.R.N. Methodology: Use the E.A.R.N. for Dispensing process methodology to dispense eyewear efficiently and effectively.
• Provide Excellent Customer Service: Communicate effectively with patients, explaining the care and maintenance of their eyewear and recommending HFO cleaning regimens.
• Process Eyewear Orders: Process delivery of eyewear orders in our software program and manage delivery status reports.
• Perform Frame and Lens Repairs: Perform proper frame and lens repairs, including trouble-shooting vision, lens, and frame issues.

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Previous computer experience and basic math skills preferred. Previous customer service, hospitality, or retail experience preferred.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.

Works in a retail optical environment, requiring evening and weekend hours.
