Job Summary:
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Tulane University is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Infant Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a Postdoctoral Fellow in Infant Mental Health, you will provide assessment, treatment, and consultation services to maltreated children under the age of 6 years and their families involved with the child welfare system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical conceptualization and treatment services to young children and their caregivers with challenging behaviors, attachment and/or relationship problems, developmental delays, and/or other mental health problems.
- Make appropriate referrals and provide consultation, supervision, and training to multidisciplinary professionals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other professionals to provide comprehensive services to children and families.
- Conduct psychological assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Provide individual, dyadic, and family therapy services.
- Develop and implement training programs for professionals and students.
Requirements:
- PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
- Successful completion of an APA-accredited internship with a focus on infant mental health.
- Experience in a clinical setting working with children and adults.
- Ability to provide training to other professionals and students.
- Competent communication and writing skills.
- Flexibility and ability to organize and manage time independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Working knowledge of child development and infant mental health.
- Experience in supervision and teaching.
- Experience with consultation with parents, child welfare staff, and other professionals.
- Interest in advocacy and/or research.
