Reports to: Pharmacy Supervisor, Manager, or Director
Primary Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, assist pharmacists in the processing of medication orders by selecting, assembling, and preparing medications for inpatient and outpatient services. The Licensed Pharmacy Technician will undertake various responsibilities within the pharmacy, which may include a range of activities.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Verify the accuracy and legitimacy of prescriptions
+ Document and review patient information in accordance with pharmaceutical guidelines
+ Provide guidance to patients on proper medication usage
+ Support the Pharmacist in daily pharmacy operations
+ Ensure adherence to infection control protocols to protect staff and patients
+ Perform additional duties as assigned
Education Requirements:
+ High School Diploma or GED
Licensure/Certification:
+ Valid ExCPT Certification from the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification, along with registration with the State Board of Pharmacy (required)
Experience:
+ Prior experience in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care, or Home Infusion Pharmacy (preferred)
Skills & Abilities:
+ Ability to adapt proactively in a dynamic environment
+ Engage professionally with staff and patients
+ Strong problem-solving skills coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
+ Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication names, and aseptic techniques
