About the Role
The Registered Nursing (RN) position at Sentara is a dynamic opportunity for new graduate RNs to kickstart their nursing career. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and contributing to a culture of excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's unique needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and evidence-based care.

Nurse Residency Program
Sentara's 6-month Nurse Residency program is designed specifically for new graduate RNs with less than one year of experience. This immersive program combines practical skills with hands-on training, professional development, and mentoring, empowering you to confidently transition into your nursing career in Medical Surgical nursing, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency Care, the Operating room, or Women's Health.
Eligibility
Sentara considers you a new graduate RN if you are about to graduate or have graduated and have less than one year of practice. Qualified students will be graduating or will have graduated from an accredited nursing program.
