Job Summary:

A.T. Still University's School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member to facilitate Case-Based Inquiry (CBIQ) student groups. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the ATSU-SOMA team to deliver high-quality educational experiences for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitation of Case-Based Inquiry Groups: The adjunct faculty member will facilitate CBIQ groups, leading discussions and guiding students in the application of basic science concepts to clinical cases.
  • Review and Preparation: The candidate will review facilitator notes and concept questions in preparation for case delivery, ensuring a thorough understanding of the material.
  • Student Support: The adjunct faculty member will provide general support to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Faculty Development and Training: The successful candidate will participate in faculty development and training related to the assigned tasks, staying up-to-date with best practices in medical education.
  • Other Duties: The adjunct faculty member will perform other duties as assigned by the Chair or Dean of Preclinical Curriculum, in keeping with the purpose of the school.

Requirements:

  • Education: A Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or PhD degree is required.
  • Experience: One to two years of experience in medical education, preferably at the undergraduate medical education (UME) and/or graduate medical education (GME) level.
  • Skills and Qualities: The successful candidate will possess broad knowledge and experience in medical education, with a strong ability to work collaboratively with others, manage student groups, and promote a culturally rich environment that values and appreciates diversity.
