Position Overview:
The Patient Meal Service Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of meals to patients and guests in accordance with established facility protocols.

This position involves accurately taking and entering meal orders, as well as delivering meals to the appropriate locations.

The Coordinator is also responsible for documenting delivery times and locations within the Electronic Diet Office system, ensuring efficient service.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the primary contact between the Nutritional Services Department and patients, adhering to communication protocols.
2. Initiate the meal trayline process based on dietary requirements.
3. Manage incoming and outgoing calls to facilitate meal orders and patient inquiries.
4. Collect and return meal trays upon completion of service.

Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Proficiency in understanding and following verbal and written instructions in English is essential.

Experience:
Previous experience in hospital food service or customer service is preferred.

Skills:
Familiarity with computers, telecommunication devices, and food service equipment is necessary.

Work Environment:
This role involves working in various settings including kitchens, serving areas, and patient rooms.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 35 pounds, and endure varying temperatures. Effective communication skills are crucial for success in this role.

Performance Expectations:
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to sanitation protocols. Attend departmental meetings and participate in training as required. Ensure timely delivery of meals within established timeframes and accurately recognize dietary needs for each patient.
Utilize break schedules responsibly and collaborate with team members to meet service expectations.
