Position Overview

As a Tissue Processing Specialist, you will be an integral part of our Histology-Diagnostics Institute, working in a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing routine and advanced microtomy, immunohistochemistry, tissue microarray, and molecular laboratory techniques.
  • Assessing and interpreting assays for their sensitivity and specificity.
  • Embedding and preparing tissue sections for various laboratory procedures.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a candidate who:
  • Holds an HT or HTL certification.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in microtomy.
  • Possesses strong multitasking abilities.
  • Exhibits excellent organizational skills.
  • Is capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transporting prepared tissue specimens to the laboratory and placing them on the automatic tissue processor.
  • Processing specimens, embedding, and sectioning embedded specimens using a microtome.
  • Conducting routine stains, special stains procedures, and enzyme histochemistry stains.
  • Mounting, labeling, and distributing prepared microscope slides to pathologists or designated areas for analysis.
  • Preparing reagents, buffers, solutions, and stains.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and quality of assigned instruments and equipment.
  • Performing data entry of patient and specimen information and collecting statistics through computer programs.

Qualifications
  • ASCP certification eligibility in the field of histology is required.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively in time-sensitive situations are essential.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity are necessary for handling specimens and utilizing instrumentation.
