Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Forensic Psychology Director to join our team at Georgia Regional Hospital-Atlanta. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of forensic mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to forensic mental health services.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the delivery of health services, including forensic mental health services.
  • Monitor and evaluate healthcare programs to ensure they meet the needs of our patients and stakeholders.
  • Direct subordinate managers and staff to ensure that community health care services are adequate, appropriate, and accessible.
  • Develop long and short-term goals for the health agency and participate in the agency's strategic and operational planning.
  • Interview, hire, direct, train, evaluate, and when necessary, discipline and discharge health care employees.
  • Maintain awareness of advances in medicine, computerized diagnostic and treatment equipment, data processing technology, government regulations, health insurance charges, and financing options.
  • Manage human resources and direct administrative activities for health care employees, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of services and programs.
  • Oversee the planning, development, scheduling, and implementation of health care programs and activities.
  • Participate in the development and administration of budgets.
  • Perform community assessments and develop policies and plans based on data collection, activity reports, planning documents, program plans, and objectives.
  • Plan and organize program structure and policies to meet organizational and programmatic objectives.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of the unit(s) to provide continuous active treatment to the patients served.
  • Set priorities and implement goals and objectives to meet or resolve identified health problems.
Requirements
  • Doctorate in an applied psychology degree and license to practice psychology in the State of Georgia.
  • Experience in the field of forensic psychology and management of psychological or forensic psychological services.
  • Forensic experience required.
