Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Recovery Support Specialist to join our team at Carle Foundation Hospital. As a Recovery Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing experience, education, and professional services to assist and support individuals in developing and/or maintaining recovery-oriented, wellness-focused lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive services to patients, including assessment, discharge planning, and warm hand off.
  • Engage patients in the living room process and establish a collaborative relationship to provide practical and personalized support.
  • Assist in creation of recovery planning and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Ensure patients receive support and motivation to engage in and adhere to ongoing treatment.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary clinical staffing and provide detailed communication to receptive discharge providers.
Requirements
  • Lived experience in recovery.
  • Ability to provide advocacy, education, recovery, and wellness support.
  • Knowledge of addiction, signs of overdose, family dynamics, and administration of naloxone products.
  • Ability to educate patients and families in opiate use and administration of naloxone products.
