Job Summary:

As a Healthcare Support Specialist at Carle Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our medical team. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with the personal care and hygiene needs of assigned patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Your strong communication skills will facilitate seamless interactions with patients, families, and healthcare staff, promoting a positive and healing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the maintenance of unit supplies, ensuring a smooth operation of the unit
Collect and document patient data as directed by the Registered Nurse
Demonstrate competency in selected psychomotor skills, including vital sign measurement, blood glucose monitoring, and intake/output recording
Perform or assist patients with activities of daily living, preparing them for transportation and/or transport
Complete the unit-specific HCT Safety Checklist at the beginning of each shift
Receive delegated responsibilities from the RN and maintain close communication during the shift
Complete and document basic patient care independently, including baths, vital signs, accuchecks, and meal trays
Maintain patient safety as the highest priority, ensuring compliance with safety measures such as fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation precautions
