Responsibilities

Under the supervision of healthcare professionals, the Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering patient care that ensures the safety and comfort of all individuals. Responsibilities include performing initial health assessments such as measuring vital signs, including blood pressure, weight, temperature, pulse, and respiration, in accordance with established clinical guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive patient care by adhering to established protocols and procedures. Welcome and prepare patients for their appointments. Collect and document vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, allergies, and current medications. Collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing as required. Administer prescribed medications and/or vaccines through various methods as directed. Conduct routine tests, including EKGs, as necessary. Schedule patients for diagnostic procedures and follow up to ensure completion. Communicate test results and care plans to patients as directed by the healthcare provider. Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical instruments; ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials. Document patient care plans, test results, and examinations in the medical records as instructed. Address non-routine issues or concerns with the practice manager or healthcare providers. Complete safety checklists and quality control measures as required. Uphold patient safety and confidentiality standards. Perform additional duties as assigned by the practice manager or healthcare providers. Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program preferred

Licensure/Certifications:

Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) as applicable. Active American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire

Experience:

Preferred 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant Familiarity with electronic health records is preferred
