Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the organization’s training programs in the technical domain, including:
    • Create training materials derived from vendor specifications, manuals, and hands-on observations.
    • Utilize knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering to develop thorough training content.
    • Interpret and clarify intricate schematics within training documents and sessions.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant FRA regulations, including those outlined in 49CFR.
    • Review and refine vendor documentation to guarantee that training materials are comprehensive and current.
    • Coordinate with multiple instructors, clearly defining their specific responsibilities.
    • Manage logistical aspects, including support staff, tools, and necessary supplies.
    • Ensure that vendors and subcontractors adhere to quality standards.
    • Conduct training sessions on familiarization, FRA compliance, subsystem integration, and interfaces.
    • Act as a consistent liaison between the organization, vendors, and relevant authorities.
    • Draft correspondence to company entities, vendors, and authorities as needed.
    • Organize training sessions at designated sites.
    • Confirm the availability of proper documentation and equipment at training locations.
    • Collaborate with the Engineering Department for technical clarifications.
    • Update and ensure the timely submission of all contractual training deliverables.
    • Assist in designing course curricula and schedules for new contracts.
    • Provide written assessments of course and instructor effectiveness.
    • Support initiatives for staff development.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • Formal technical training (e.g., Military Electronic Courses) is advantageous.
Experience:
  • A minimum of five years of experience in delivering technical training, preferably within the transportation sector.
  • Strong grasp of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Flexible problem-solving skills in field situations.
  • Willingness to travel at least 20% of the time.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Adobe FrameMaker and/or vector graphics software (e.g., CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD) is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and comprehensible training materials.
