Lead Youth Counselor

Westhab Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Youth Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our Community Services department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality youth programs and services that promote growth, learning, and empowerment.
Job Summary:
The Lead Youth Counselor will support the Program Director in administrative tasks and duties assigned by the Program Director. You will deliver a range of academic, enrichment, recreational, and leadership development programming to participating youth through a Positive Youth Development context that fosters growth and learning, maximizes safety, and instills hope and motivation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Program Director in clerical administration functions, including filing, data collection, and logistics.
- Provide support and guidance to Dayspring Youth Counselors during program hours.
- Support the scheduling and implementation of weekly planned youth services activities, including the development of academic, enrichment, and recreational program components.
- Ensure the wellbeing and safety of participating youth throughout program hours.
- Provide academic instruction that supports the school day curriculum of participating youth through curricula focusing on literacy and STEM.
- Lead a range of enrichment, recreation, and leadership development programs designed to increase self-esteem and teach important life skills.
- Attend weekly team meetings, training sessions, parent meetings, and other assigned meetings to market the program and report on outcomes.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as fire drills, evacuation, shelter in place, lock downs, etc.
- Escort children to various activities in the building and in the community if necessary.
- Facilities maintenance, including disinfecting rooms, equipment, and light cleaning.
- Distribution of snacks and program supplies, including workbooks, technology, and art supplies.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED and at least two years of expertise in direct after-school program delivery required. College diploma preferred. High energy, dynamic personality, and genuine passion for youth needed. Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 lbs. as needed. Program hours include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
