General Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, shipping, and facility organization. This role involves supporting the Warehouse Manager in various duties to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring a continuous supply for customers while managing inventory costs effectively.
  • Monitor daily replenishment needs and oversee bulk tank, truck, and rail car movements.
  • Designate appropriate storage and staging areas, ensuring that stock for various container types is organized efficiently within the warehouse.
  • Conduct monthly cycle counts and coordinate personnel for quarterly inventory checks as necessary.
  • Review inventory receipt documentation and promptly report any discrepancies to management.
  • Train staff on standard operating procedures to promote efficiency and safety.
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and communicate findings to management.
  • Assist drivers with loading operations and provide courteous service to pick-up customers.
  • Prepare and organize package products for the upcoming shifts and delivery routes.
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance and quality control standards.
  • Organize stock and documentation for intercompany shipments, verifying inventory levels for both bulk and packaged goods.
  • Maintain open communication with Operations Personnel, Dispatchers, and Fleet Maintenance Manager to facilitate operations.
  • Uphold a clean and safe working environment.
  • Lead monthly safety meetings and conduct training on relevant topics.
  • Monitor employee attendance and ensure adequate shift coverage.
  • Support the implementation of JD Edwards software among warehouse personnel.
  • Generate daily fleet planning and prepare work assignments for staff.
  • Contribute to achieving warehouse-related key performance indicators (KPIs) on a monthly basis.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse operations.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or lead role within a warehouse setting.
  • Familiarity with inventory and warehouse management systems is essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and climb.
  • Capability to move full oil drums.
  • Must be qualified to operate a forklift.
  • A valid Driver's License is required; a CDL license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull weights up to 75 lbs.

  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is advantageous.

  • Ability to foster a positive work environment while meeting customer expectations.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly to various stakeholders.

  • Experience in identifying and resolving complex issues with minimal guidance.
  • Responsive to the needs of both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on building strong relationships.

Working Conditions:

This position involves working in both indoor and outdoor environments, subject to varying temperatures and weather conditions. The role requires the ability to lift, push, and pull weights up to 50 lbs, along with frequent bending, stooping, and climbing. Employees may encounter hazardous materials and are provided with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
