Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Leeds, AL. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our cement plant, ensuring maximum production capability, and maintaining high product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of production personnel to achieve optimal production levels and quality standards.
- Maximize product quality by adhering to plant specifications, goals, and objectives.
- Optimize the utilization and effectiveness of personnel and equipment to ensure efficient production processes.
- Administer the collective bargaining agreement and manage personnel to ensure compliance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations.
- Coordinate shift activities with other process supervisors to ensure continuity of operation and meet production demands.
- Ensure the efficient operation of plant equipment and troubleshoot technical, operational, quality, and environmental issues.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical experience with process equipment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to make timely and critical decisions, work under stress, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Motivation, ability, and willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Cement plant experience or closely related industry.
- Able to supervise and troubleshoot technical, operational, quality, and environmental issues.
- Working knowledge and technical understanding of cement manufacturing process and its equipment, process control systems, and lab systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years or more cement plant operating experience.
- College education or post-high school technical training.
- Understanding of the chemistry of raw mix, clinker, and cement.
- SAP experience.
Work Environment:
The role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
