**Job Summary**
The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the management and control of all operations activities and leading the supply chain, planning, manufacturing, quality, and logistics functions that constitute the Operations Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and work closely with internal and external key stakeholders regarding technical support for activities.
- Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental issues are prioritized and facilitated.
- Provide clear leadership and vision, inspire, and motivate staff to achieve productivity, and mentor them as they develop new skills.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture with measurable improvements in customer focus, OTIF, quality, and operational excellence.
- Ensure efficient and professional order fulfillment, from the receipt of raw materials to successful dispatch to client sites internationally.
- Develop and implement agreed short/medium/long term operations plans that reflect the Board's strategic plans and comprise focussed and SMART departmental and individual objectives and behaviors that are aligned to the Company's priorities.
- Ensure that appropriate key performance indicators are set, monitored, and reported regularly. Take the appropriate actions necessary to drive performance improvements in health and safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and productivity.
- Accountable for the health & safety of staff, visitors, and contractors, environmental performance to current industry standards, and energy management towards carbon net zero.
- Drive continuous improvement to deliver measurable improvements to efficiency, controlling and proactively reducing the Cost Of Goods Sold.
- Appropriately deploy lean best practices, reducing waste, and enhancing quality, agility, and repeatable efficiencies.
- Recommend and introduce new technology, processes, and systems to advance operations.
- Actively support the deployment of new IT systems for operations data, stock control, production control, and order management.
- Prepare and own the departmental budget including the capital expenditure requirement necessary to advance capability, meet agreed objectives, and manage departmental spending.
- Ensure optimal usage of production plant and ensure manufacturing teams are underpinned by appropriate headcount; proposing capital equipment/factory development purchases and reporting Return on Investments.
- Develop robust manufacturing planning and dynamic stock management systems that support increased output and stock turns.
- Ensure that customer orders are delivered On Time In Full.
- Establish effective methods to facilitate new product introductions, removing obstacles and pulling new products through the factory so that they are available for sale at planned launch dates.
- Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports and manage a high-performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value, and cost reductions.
- Ensure that recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and career plans are consistently delivered across the team. Set out clear roles and responsibilities and ensure the team is appropriately empowered 'to do the right thing'. Review employee feedback and develop action plans as appropriate to allow them to succeed in their roles and support succession planning.
- Ensure excellent standards of housekeeping throughout the Company and safe working methods to safeguard health and safety and support operational efficiency.
- Responsible for the premises, site facilities, and equipment. Including planned maintenance, integrity, and security.
- Manage attendance, holidays, disciplinary issues, and procedures as appropriate.
Environmental Responsibilities:
- Review environmental strategies that impact future ways of operating and ensure implementation where possible.
- Review the use of technological systems that support a more environmentally friendly approach.
- Review opportunities to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
Authority Level:
The Production Manager will possess a thorough understanding of the theoretical and practical application of the principles of their profession; significant latitude for making decisions for their operational or functional units; significant authority over team members; pioneers in their area of expertise and departmental function; direct expense responsibility for significant departmental or unit budgets.

- Proven success leading operations within a robust Quality Management System for a world-class manufacturer.
- Proven success in specifying, implementing, and operating manufacturing IT systems.
- An impressive track record building a culture of Customer Focus, Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement, driving accountability and engagement by sharing best practices and coaching employees through change.
