Job Summary
Stratosphere Quality is in search of a meticulous and skilled Quality Engineer to fulfill a contract role. This position is crucial for ensuring that our client in the automotive sector adheres to the highest standards of product quality. The ideal candidate will oversee quality control processes, conduct thorough inspections, and collaborate closely with both internal teams and external clients. This role demands strong problem-solving abilities, project management experience, and effective communication skills with stakeholders.

Pay Rate: $45-$50 per hour

Responsibilities

Key Duties:

  • Verify the effectiveness of supplier quality measures and provide oversight.
  • Engage in problem-solving and track supplier progress on improvement initiatives and key performance indicators.
  • Conduct audits of processes and products, including initial article inspections, control plans, packaging assessments, error-proofing, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on progress, issues, and action items.
  • Assist suppliers in adhering to compliance requirements.
  • Maintain professional project management and communication throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Evaluate automotive components to ensure compliance with quality standards and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancement in production processes and execute solutions.
  • Project Management: Oversee quality-related projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and objectives.
  • Client Communication: Serve as a liaison with clients, providing updates and addressing any quality-related concerns.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections and quality control activities, reporting findings to management.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • General expertise in Quality Engineering.
  • Familiarity with blueprint interpretation, gauging, and tooling.
  • Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Comprehensive knowledge base in quality engineering.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with clients and teams.
  • Proficient PC skills, including familiarity with quality management tools and software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automotive Industry Experience: Previous experience in the automotive sector is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with quality management tools and software is beneficial.
