Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Core Facility Technologist to join our team at Johns Hopkins University. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing specimen collection kits, delivering prepared kits to various locations on campus, and assisting with shipment receipt and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare specimen collection kits and complete requisition forms for subject visits.
  • Understand and use the electronic inventory/barcode system to record prepared or destroyed kits and supplies.
  • Help receive, organize, and maintain the kit and supplies inventories, including breaking down expired kits and sorting recycled supplies.
  • Transport kits to outpatient oncology clinics, Central Processing Core, and other locations on campus.
  • Pick up kits or materials from other departments on campus for transport to the Central Kit facility.
  • May assist with training of new staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Operations Director.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field, or High school diploma or graduation equivalent with some science coursework and laboratory experience.
  • Some related post-undergraduate work experience, certificate from technical institute, or internship experience is preferred.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with a regular schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and excellent time management skills.

What We Offer

Johns Hopkins University offers a competitive salary range of $43,680 (targeted) to $26.25 HRLY (commensurate with experience). We also offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
