Position Overview

The Sales Associate role is crucial for delivering exceptional customer service, managing cash register operations (POS), driving sales, and ensuring effective merchandising and pricing strategies. This position is classified as safety-sensitive and requires a negative drug screening.

Key Responsibilities

This role does not involve supervisory duties. The individual must be capable of executing a variety of tasks consistently throughout the workday. While specific responsibilities may vary, the following duties are essential:

  • Accurately process transactions and merchandise through the cash register (POS) while adhering to cash handling protocols.
  • Assist with product placement, display upkeep, and merchandise assembly.
  • Conduct cleanup at fuel or gasoline pumps.
  • Support the receiving process and monitor floor stock, ensuring timely re-wraps.
  • Implement price adjustments and markdowns as necessary.
  • Relay customer requests to management effectively.
  • Contribute to maintaining store cleanliness and organization.
  • Complete all mandatory training, including Class C Certification.

Work Environment

  • The work setting is generally favorable, primarily indoors with moderate noise levels. Surfaces are typically hard (concrete, asphalt, etc.), and lighting and temperature conditions are satisfactory.
  • Shifts may vary in length, generally lasting no less than 4 hours and potentially exceeding 8 hours. Flexibility for holiday, evening, and weekend shifts is required based on business needs.
  • Travel is not anticipated for this position.

Essential Functions

  • Availability and adaptability are critical; the employee must be service-oriented and meet the following requirements:
  • Maintain consistent and predictable attendance.
  • Work scheduled shifts and be open to varied hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Foster a safe and productive work environment for colleagues and customers, adhering to safety training and guidelines.
  • Ensure every customer receives outstanding service, including greeting and acknowledging each guest.
  • Stay informed about all product details, promotional offers, and advertisements.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and practices, including pricing and loss prevention measures.
