Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $83,254 - $108,382 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more.

About the Role

The Patient Safety Nurse will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and tracking trends in patient safety information to initiate system changes based on current concepts. You will provide support to the Patient Safety Manager by implementing processes for Root Cause Analysis, Patient Safety Incident Reporting, National Patient Safety Goals, Joint Commission Sentinel Events, Patient Safety Alerts, and Safe Medical Device Act.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of the Medical Center Patient Safety Improvement Program.
  • Assure that patient privacy is respected in the Patient Safety process.
  • Review analyzed data to identify and report potential deficiencies in process, product or structure.
  • Ensure that staff assigned to a Root Cause Analysis team receive the education and resources needed for the process.
  • Examine and interpret standards of the profession.
  • Assume a leadership role in fostering accountability in others for professional practice, performance improvement and improvement of patient care.
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis and HFMEAs in accordance with established procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective collegial relationships with all levels of staff while serving as a consultant for patient safety issues.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must have a graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution and a current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Additionally, you must possess English language proficiency and meet the dimension requirements for the grade level being applied for.
