As a Front of House Supervisor, your role will be to ensure that our front-of-house team delivers exceptional service, taking guest orders, crafting beverages, serving meals, and upholding cleanliness standards.

You will take on supervisory duties in the absence of the Manager, guiding team members during your shift and facilitating their training and development.

Responsibilities Include:
- Leadership and Training:
  • Providing direction and supervision to team members; acting as a communication link for management.
  • Training team members on customer service excellence, compliance, food safety, sanitation, and equipment usage.
  • Collaborating with management during peak periods; fulfilling closing duties as necessary; serving as a backup to the Manager.
  • Assisting with inventory management and purchasing tasks, as required.
  • Performing front-of-house service duties as needed.

Customer Engagement and Sales:
  • Delivering superior customer service; ensuring a safe environment for all guests through responsible serving practices.
  • Providing comprehensive information on menu items and specials, including alcoholic beverages.
  • Addressing customer complaints and resolving issues to foster strong relationships.
  • Effectively merchandising products and utilizing suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and enhance sales.
  • Regularly performing front-of-house duties and proficiently handling back-of-house tasks, including food preparation and ingredient ordering.

Compliance and Sanitation:
  • Ensuring adherence to TABC regulations.
  • Maintaining compliance with departmental and store standard operating procedures.
  • Completing necessary logs for areas of responsibility (e.g., temperature logs).
  • Upholding cleanliness and sanitation standards in sales areas, display cases, preparation zones, and equipment.

Background Requirements:
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Experience in restaurant leadership roles.
  • Prior experience in an H-E-B restaurant is preferred.
  • Familiarity with restaurant Point of Sale (POS) systems is advantageous.
  • Completion of Alcohol Seller Training and Cash Handling training upon hiring.

Essential Skills:
  • Basic culinary knowledge.
  • Understanding of nutritional values and ingredients is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Strong reading, writing, and mathematical abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office, internet).
  • Excellent organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Ability to lead restaurant operations and guide team members.
  • Capacity to handle guest feedback and resolve issues effectively.
  • Ability to maintain a positive demeanor while managing multiple priorities.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and/or rotating schedules.
  • Capability to safely navigate around moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequent standing and walking, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions, including wet and cold settings.
