AIG is redefining the way we help customers manage risk. As a Complex Claims Director, you will play a pivotal role in this transformation, leveraging your expertise to drive growth and excellence in our claims handling processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and process complex claims, ensuring proactive handling and timely resolution through well-developed action plans.
  • Identify and evaluate coverage issues, preparing comprehensive coverage letters with supervisory review and analysis.
  • Assess liability and resolve claims within established evaluation parameters, maintaining accurate diaries and completing tasks within required timeframes.
  • Coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigation and/or litigation management, calculating and assigning timely and appropriate reserves.
  • Refer cases to supervisors and management as necessary, responding to requests or directions in a professional and timely manner.
  • Attend arbitrations, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials, successfully completing required State licensing examinations and continuing education requirements.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of General Liability/Auto claims experience, with expertise in complex and high-exposure claims.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with advanced experience in litigation claims management, including ADR and mediation processes.
  • Strong technical expertise in interpreting insurance contracts, with in-depth knowledge of claim handling procedures, claims performance strategies, and claim best practices.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to initiate and champion change initiatives that leverage technology and improve skills in benchmarking.
